MOSCOW, Dec 7 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Industry and Trade Ministry plans to keep the current format of car industry support in January–March 2017, including a car scrappage program and trade-in, but may introduce new measures after thatr, Minister Denis Manturov told reporters Wednesday.
“We are continuing our work in this direction, but I can definitely say that we will find a solution to maintain the demand support program from January next year regardless of the results of the first quarter. We will maintain it within the developed options of this year and last year, through scrappage, trade-in, preferential loans and preferential car leasing,” he said.
“We will submit our initiatives developed on the basis of results of the first quarter to introduce new programs for purchases of first cars, cars for large families, cars for villages and for social workers…I think we will introduce some changes to improve support of this sector of the economy on the basis of results of the first quarter.”
The government will define spending on the January–March 2017 support until the end of 2016, he said.
